Getting away from the Wellington Terminal
After disembarking from your Interislander ferry at the Wellington terminal, there are a number of ways in which to continue your journey.
Shuttle Bus
Interislander provides a direct bus, from the ferry arrivals terminal to Platform 9 at the Wellington Railway Station. The cost of the bus is $2 per person (children under 5 years of age are free). Tickets may be bought using cash or credit card (excludes Diners) from the ticketing station. However, we regret that we are unable to provide this service for the sailing which arrives into Wellington at 1:35am.
Taxis
A designated taxi lane is conveniently located outside the terminal. Taxis provide a convenient way to get to your city accommodation or other Wellington destination. If there are no taxis waiting, terminal staff will order one for you.
Rental Cars
A number of rental car companies have booths located inside the arrivals terminal.
Walking
For those on foot, Wellington city and railway station are a brisk 40 minute walk along Aotea Quay. However, for your safety and comfort, we recommend one of the above options.
